01 · The mechanism
The Digital Dutch Auction engine
Real-time price discovery through competitive bidding. Investors bid the rate they will accept, and the book rather than a bilateral negotiation sets the outcome.
The book fills from the lowest rate upward until the issue is covered. The last accepted rate becomes the clearing rate, bids above it are not filled, and every fill prices at the clearing rate.
Applied consistently
The same auction runs across floating rate structures, commercial paper and market trading, so participants learn one mechanism.
Recorded end to end
Bids, revisions and allocations are written to an audit trail that returns to participants with the fill.
Used for resets
Recurring rate resets run through the same engine, so a reset is priced by competitive bidding rather than set through a process participants cannot see.
